Digital Marketing

Problem
Digital Marketing Agency was spending 10-15 hours a week building customer lifetime value (CLV) reports for their entire client base. Tracking CLV was something that boosted their customer satisfaction and retention, but it was a complete time drainer that hindered their ability to focus on other key performance indicators that could move the needle faster for the agency.
Solution
Our Data Lab connected to their CRM (HubSpot) and built a robust application that accurately forecasts CLV for their entire client base. Additionally, the application delves into Average Customer Value, Average Annual Value, Minimum Customer Life in Days, and Average Customer Spend.
Result
Our client now logs into Perceptivity to view this information and presents it to their clients in monthly reviews and account summaries without needing to do the labor-intensive legwork of bringing it all to life. The application is interactive versus typical static HubSpot reporting and takes only a few clicks to drill down into the specifics. The agency has saved an estimated 240 hours of work since signing on with Bear Cognition and now has the freedom to focus more on new acquisition efforts and new sales strategies that have increased client count and revenue.
Hospitality

Problem
Upscale Steakhouse was spending countless hours per month on detailed reporting for sales transactions, menu item performance and strategic pricing strategies. The client used a top tier Point-of-Sale system and had a designated team assigned to oversee dataflow and general operations. The restaurant was in a rapid growth stage offering a high variety of entrees, cocktails, along with hosting events regularly to help drive revenue and growth goals. It was becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the all the information to make informed decisions effectively. The restaurant needed to dedicate considerable time to sift through countless Microsoft excel files, accounting software, and the data living inside their POS system.
Solution
Our data lab automatically connected to their cumbersome accounting tool and Point-of-Sale system by using Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The Data Lab successfully blended their key data points coming from both systems to generate customized detailed reports by item, category, time of service and overall server versus server performance. Furthermore, the team at Bear Cognition utilized typical industry standards to generate a pricing optimization tool that allows the restaurant to enter in change form data at any point to keep up with pricing changes and optimize their profits based on the inevitable cost fluctuations or alterations to the menu options.
Result
Our client now logs into Perceptivity to view this information and presents it to their team in monthly reviews and general operations meetings without needing to do the necessary legwork. This restaurant has saved over 375 hours of work since signing on with Bear Cognition and now has more freedom to focus on event coordination and enhanced customer experience that allows them to continue to grow and become one of the highest performing restaurants in the area.
Retail

Problem
Executives from a pet food company approached Bear Cognition with robust data sets derived from Google Ads, Shopify, and Amazon Ads. They didn’t have a way of aggregating the information together in an effective way to determine their average customer acquisition cost (CAC), and, they were not 100% sure which campaigns were the most effective.
Solution
Bear Cognition and the Data Lab were able to layer all their data in easy to grasp visualizations and provide advanced modeling to determine the companies average CAC was $100. Provided this insight, the business was able to optimize their ad budget and can now accurately allocate their ad budget accordingly to maximize their ROI.
Result
The owner of the company has increased revenue across the board by leveraging the insights brought to the surface by Bear Cognition. The increase in revenue has allowed the company to further expand their ad spending budget and has more than doubled their growth the past year.
Human Performance

Problem
An ACC Men’s Basketball Team approached us about their data needs. At that moment they had no way to collect their athlete subjective wellness data, had Graduate Assistants spending a majority of their time putting together scouting reports and having multiple locations of needing to pull data from, had a wearable that provided no visualizations for report, and had an extremely tough data downloading and organizing system.
Solution
The Human Performance team developed a custom built Daily Wellness report for their athletic trainer in which the results fed straight into a dashboard. We also provided technical support in extracting Kinexon data into a seamless process that then provides then with daily updates. And we also pulled data from multiple spots to put all their scouting information into a one pager instead of having multiple tabs open, ultimately saving them lots of time.
Result
The team now has all of their athletes answering daily wellness questions in order to gauge the readiness of their team for the day. Athletes are quickly and easier flagged if they begin to fall below their baselines answers. They also now have ways of layering the subjective data on top of the objective data—making it very easy to see how practice loads are affecting soreness, mood, or stress or how the athletes perceived feelings have a direct impact on performance outcomes. Using the daily report that we provided, they are able to receive feedback very quickly after practice in order to see what the athletes output was for the day, if any one was over worked or under worked and give ideas of how to adjust for tomorrow. Using our scouting applications, the Graduate Assistants are now saving hours of prep time for their scouting reports as they can now see trends and high performers on the opposing team with the click of a button.
Ecommerce

Problem
An apparel company was tracking inventory management metrics through several Microsoft excel files and sheets but was having countless discrepancies and accuracy issues on various SKU’s all too frequently. They would consistently sell out of popular items during the holiday season, would carry far too many SKUs during the slower seasons and couldn’t get into a rhythm for their supply to meet consumer demand when it mattered most.
Solution
The Data Lab developed a custom inventory management application consolidating all their excel files along with splicing in their Shopify product sales. The application allows the user to key in a desired inventory level for specific SKU’s. As products dip to the desired threshold set by the customer, they will receive a notification within the application that they need to order more of that SKU. Furthermore, our client has deeper visibility on each SKU’s performance relative to sales over time from splicing in Shopify sales data to the same application.
Result
The customer now uses Perceptivity to manage their inventory levels versus excel files and use the notifications inside the portal to decide when to reorder inventory. This has drastically improved customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy leading to higher revenue and a 35% increase in revenue since joining forces with Bear Cognition.
Supply Chain

Problem
Large E-commerce business ships and fulfills thousands of orders a day. Tracking and managing all the shipments thru the various carriers and platforms takes a ton of manpower and hours. Reviewing invoices was a time drain resulting in the company forgoing that process all together to focus on getting shipments to their customers.
Solution
By connecting to the client’s carrier platforms and building a suite of applications, Bear Cognition was able to increase visibility into their supply chain KPIs, allowing them to make quick decisions and manage their shipments more effectively. This increase in visibility also allowed for a full review of their shipping carriers, which was previously not an option due to time constraints.
Result
Our client now logs into Perceptivity, allowing for a streamlined look into their processes which saves time and allows them to focus on other aspects of their business. This has turned their shipping department from a cost center to a profit center, as they are now able to make informed decisions that optimize their supply chain and reduce costs.
